Reading helps thinking helps living: The Ljubljana Manifesto and its relevance for libraries

In the Ljubljana Manifesto, Prof Dr Miha Kovač from the Department of Library and Information Science and Book Studies at the University of Ljubljana and other authors have called for a re-evaluation of intensive reading in the digital age and the promotion of advanced reading skills. The manifesto will be presented at the 112th BiblioCon and the importance of libraries will be discussed with Sarah Wildeisen, Zentral- und Landesbibliothek Berlin (ZLB), and Prof Dr Tom Becker, Stadtbibliothek Hannover. The event will be moderated by Frankfurter Buchmesse.

International events around the world

Every year, we organise up to 20 German collective stands at international book fairs. Visitors to the stands can discover the latest German-language book publications and meet representatives of German publishers. They can also discover a programme of events with German-language authors. Everyone is welcome.
