At the beginning of July, the pitching event "Shoot the Book!", which brings publishers and international producers seeking future projects together, took place as part of the Marché du Film at the Cannes Film Festival. Friederike Fuxen, Rights Director at Loewe Verlag, participated in the event - organised by SCELF and the Institut français and in cooperation with Frankfurter Buchmesse – for the first time. Of the 12 titles selected, she presented "Ruby Fairygale", the only children's book, and talks in this interview about her many wonderful experiences and encounters at the Croisette.

Frankfurt International Booksellers – applications now being accepted for new digital Frankfurter Buchmesse programme

Booksellers from all over the world can now apply to participate in the new digital programme Frankfurt International Booksellers offered by Frankfurter Buchmesse (14–18 October 2020). Organised by Frankfurter Buchmesse with financial support from Germany’s Federal Foreign Office, the programme is designed for booksellers who stock foreign-language titles in their bookshops. Applications being accepted until 28 September 2020.

Presentation of the first Global Illustration Awards

The Global Illustration Awards were presented for the very first time yesterday, Thursday 20 October, at the Frankfurter Buchmesse. With the awards, the Frankfurter Buchmesse and the International Information Content Industry Association (ICIA) have recognised illustrators in five categories: Cover Illustration, Children’s Book Illustration, Editorial Illustration, Scientific Illustration and Theme Illustration.
