With the new Stage 4.0 (H 104), the international Hall 4.0 at Frankfurter Buchmesse (16-20 October 2024) now has its own event stage. Everything here revolves around trends, products and market developments in the fields of science, education and publishing services.

75 years of Frankfurter Buchmesse. And MVB has been part of it for 75 years. To mark its 75th Buchmesse in Frankfurt, the company's team reminisced and looked to the future.

From 26 to 28 April 2019, the German-Norwegian literary festival “Towards Frankfurt” in Oslo will offer a preview of what’s to come. Over 90 writers from Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Norway will read from their books and discuss the themes they explore in their works. Never before have this many German-language authors come together in Norway at the same time.

In October, thousands of literature fans will once again celebrate reading at the place where countless good stories from 100 countries begin: at Frankfurter Buchmesse. Award-winning authors Yuval Noah Harari, Elif Shafak and Anne Applebaum, recipient of the 2024 Peace Prize of the German Book Trade, will present their latest books and are part of talks on the book fair’s stages.

High-class speakers are expected: Michael Krause from Spotify, Stacy Creamer from Audible, Helena Gustafsson from Storytel and Axel Reichmann from Google amongst others, will give insights into areas such as audio content production, marketing and distribution and voice technologies.

In 2023, Frankfurter Buchmesse (18-22 October) will celebrate its 75th anniversary. To mark the occasion, Frankfurter Buchmesse has teamed up with the City of Frankfurt to bring the history of the fair into the present and make it a tangible experience beyond the exhibition grounds. The anniversary activities in Frankfurt's city centre are sponsored by the City of Frankfurt and take place in close cooperation with City Marketing.

Germany successfully concluded its appearance as Guest of Honour at the 31st Abu Dhabi International Book Fair (23-29 May 2022), which ended on Sunday.

Like no other happening in the publishing industry, Frankfurter Buchmesse leads the way in activating global networks, opening up future markets and putting both sector-specific and socio-political issues on the agenda. That will be truer than ever in 2020, the year of corona, as demonstrated by the fair’s thousands of digital exhibitors from approximately 85 countries (as of 20 September 2020). TAlong with this, the book fair will offer ca. 70 hours of professional programme with acclaimed guests, including James Daunt, Ananth Padmanabhan and Jenny Fry and will be a celebration of literature online and in Frankfurt with Karin Slaughter, Elizabeth Gilbert, Irvine Welsh and many more.
