Partnering for Innovative Business Models for Open Access Publishing

As one of the world’s most innovative Open Access publishers, PLOS has led the way in developing innovative business models that make its most selective Open Access journals truly open to read and open to publish. The Community Action Publishing (CAP) model relies on a flexible, sophisticated workflow that enables authors to publish OA easily – whether or not they are funded under a formal PLOS publishing agreement. CAP also supports emerging OA models such as the University of California multi-payer model, where the university and author share responsibility for funding APCs. In partnering with PLOS on this important initiative, CCC helps provide the scale and automation required to support the needs of a growing community of stakeholders.
