Iris Klose

Former Manager International Projects and Head of Protocol
Frankfurter Buchmesse

After studying English and Russian languages and working for some time in the world of advertising, Iris joined Frankfurter Buchmesse in 1985. She worked almost exclusively in international projects, promoting the German book trade at international book fairs, organising trainings for publishing and bookselling and running German Book Information Centers in Moscow, Warsaw and Bucharest. Her focus for many years lay on the countries of Central and Eastern Europe. Subsequently she worked at KITAB, a Frankfurter Buchmesse joint venture with the Abu Dhabi Authority for Culture and Heritage. Having returned to Frankfurt she took responsibility for carrying out professional events at the Frankfurter Buchmesse and abroad. For five years she also organised the Frankfurt Rights Meeting. Before she retired, she became Head of Protocol of the Fair.
Nowadays she is working for the International Department of NABU The Nature And Biodiversity Conservation Union.
