Jana Lissek is a Foreign Rights Manager at Diogenes Verlag in Zurich, where she represents literary fiction, non-fiction and children’s books in international markets. Before joining Diogenes in 2022, she worked in the editorial department of S. Fischer Verlag. Jana studied Comparative Literature and Romance Studies at Goethe University Frankfurt and the Université de Pau, followed by a master's degree in Psychoanalysis, Philosophy and Political Economy at the Université Toulouse – Jean Jaurès. In 2025, she completed a Certificate of Advanced Studies in Developing Cultural Organisations at Leuphana University Lüneburg, supported by the Goethe-Institut. 
Alongside her work in rights, Jana is actively involved in strengthening international exchange and supporting the next generation of publishing professionals. She participated in the Paris–Frankfurt Fellowship in 2024 and the Chennai International Book Fair Fellowship in 2026, serves on the supervisory board of the German literary cooperative ZoraLit, and has spoken in 2024 and 2025 at the Frankfurt Book Fair and 2026 at the Austrian Translators’ Seminar on literary translation and career development in publishing. In 2025, she was nominated for the Börsenblatt Young Excellence Award and was selected by the Swiss Booksellers and Publishers Association (SBVV) as one of its Publishing Leaders of Tomorrow.
