Massimiliano Tarantino

Massimiliano Tarantino is Director of Fondazione Giangiacomo Feltrinelli and Director of Corporate Communications and Sustainability at the Feltrinelli Group. In January 2019, he founded the start-up Feltrinelli Education, where he served as Scientific Director. In 2023, he established the Feltrinelli Group’s Education Business Unit, which also includes Turin’s Scuola Holden, on whose Board of Directors he serves.

He is currently a member of the Boards of Directors of Fondazione Giangiacomo Feltrinelli, IALHI and AICI, and, following an appointment by the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, of Arexpo S.p.A.

Born in Trieste in 1975, he holds a degree in Law and is a professional journalist. For almost twenty-five years, he has worked in media, communications, culture and institutional relations: initially as a journalist for Gruppo Espresso and RAI and as a university lecturer; subsequently as Communications Director for the Friuli Venezia Giulia Regional Government, the Scuola Normale Superiore in Pisa, Telecom Progetto Italia and Telecom Italia; and later as the founder of start-ups in the fields of social innovation and education.

From 2013 to 2016, he oversaw the scientific content for Expo Milano 2015 and contributed to drafting the Milan Charter.

He has taught Communications and the Language of Journalism at the Universities of Udine, Pisa, Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Milan and Parma.

His awards include the 2013 CULTURA + IMPRESA Award, the 2015 Ischia Award for Communicator of the Year, and the 2022 AIF Award for Excellence in Training, in recognition of the Master’s programme in Cultural Management, which he founded together with MIP – Politecnico di Milano.
