Rebecca Cook serves as Director of Research Licensing at Wiley, where she leads comprehensive licensing strategies across Wiley's STM and academic publishing portfolios. With over a decade at Wiley, Rebecca oversees multiple revenue streams including digital content licensing partnerships with major aggregators and platform providers, pharmaceutical permissions and commercial reprints, and Clinical Outcome Assessment (COA) licensing. She specialises in developing strategic partnerships and innovative licensing frameworks that serve the diverse needs of corporate, healthcare, technology, and research sectors.
Rebecca manages strategic alliances with global Reproduction Rights Organisations (RROs), navigating complex collective licensing frameworks and emerging AI licensing models. She works closely with information services, platform providers, and digital intermediaries to expand content reach whilst developing sustainable commercial models that balance open access transformation with licensing revenue growth. Her remit includes both mature partnerships generating significant recurring revenue and new business development initiatives exploring innovative licensing opportunities.
Rebecca contributes to industry-wide copyright policy discussions and licensing best practices across STM publishing. She champions collaborative approaches that create value for publishers, intermediaries, and end users, whilst ensuring licensing strategies align with broader business objectives in an evolving digital ecosystem. Her expertise spans the full spectrum of digital licensing models, from traditional permissions through to cutting-edge content integration partnerships.
