Joachim graduated in Empirical Cultural Sciences and since then, he has been working in the comic book industry:
1996 to 2003: First editor, later head of comic department at Carlsen Verlag (Dragon Ball, Naruto, One Piece and many more; launch of the first Manga Magazine in Europe)
2004 to 2016: Managing Director of Tokyopop Germany (Death Note, Bleach, Legend of Zelda and many more; publication of the first Korean Manhwa in the local market)
Since 2017: Founder of Altraverse GmbH (My Reincarnation as Slime, Solo Leveling, Frieren, Gachiakuta and any more: Co-founder of the first Cross-European Manga Magazine Manga Issho)
