Our book fair highlight for tomorrow’s readers

Reading is my superpower T-Shirt

At the Frankfurt Kids Festival 2026, reading is transformed into an exciting live experience. Everything revolves around the latest children’s and young adult literature – colourful, lively and full of unforgettable stories. Young book fans will meet their favourite authors, listen to suspenseful readings and immerse themselves in worlds they won’t soon forget. They can also get creative themselves – with hands-on activities, workshops and much more.

Note: Our 2026 programme is currently under development. Visit this page for regular programme updates.

Join in, interact, experience – KiKA and funk at the 2026 Frankfurt Book Fair

Across more than 500 square metres in the Forum foyer, visitors can try things out, explore and join the discussion: at the 2026 Frankfurt Book Fair, KiKA and funk invite visitors to take part in a varied programme of hands-on activities.

The programme includes creative activities, opportunities to learn, and the chance to meet popular creators, presenters and KiKA characters. Visitors can also chat with the people behind the programmes and get a glimpse behind the scenes.

KiKA Baumhaus

There’s lots to discover at the KiKA Treehouse.

At the KiKA Treehouse set, visitors can do arts and crafts, paint and chat with the editorial team. In Kikaninchen-Schnipselwelt, skill and speed are put to the test, while two large quiz stations offer the chance to win great prizes by testing visitors’ KiKA knowledge.

2026 funk Logo

The silver funk bus invites you to stay awhile and join in.

Alongside an integrated photo booth for capturing great memories, the bus offers a cosy chill-out area where visitors can unwind. A prize wheel offers the chance to win exciting prizes, while interactive media activities invite visitors to solve puzzles and try things out. A DIY station also gives everyone the chance to get creative.
