40 Years Frankfurt Rights Meeting
The first conference, held under the name “International Rights Directors Meeting”, took place at the Frankfurter Buchmesse in 1987. Rights experts from 26 countries attended the debut event. In its early years, The Börsenblatt described the industry event as the “Small United Nations of Rights Directors”.
Even in its 40th anniversary year, the conference remains the meeting place for rights and licensing professionals from all over the world.
From September 2026, decision-makers from the rights and licensing sectors of the publishing industry will meet online and at the Frankfurt Book Fair in October to celebrate this anniversary and milestone together.
To mark the 40th anniversary, tickets are available at a special price: a single online session costs €40, the networking event at the Frankfurter Buchmesse is available for €24, and the All-Access ticket, priced at €140, grants access to all conference events (all prices exclude VAT).
