Lynette Owen

Lynette Owen started her rights career at Cambridge University Press and worked at Pitman Publishing and Marshall Cavendish before joining Longman Group Ltd (now Pearson Education) where she was latterly Copyright Director. She has travelled extensively, both to sell rights and to run training courses on copyright and licensing.

She is the author of Selling Rights (9/e, Routledge, 2024) and the General Editor and contributor to Clark's Publishing Agreements: A Book of Precedents (12/e, Bloomsbury Professional, 2026). She was awarded the London Book Fair Lifetime Achievement Award in 2003, an OBE for services to publishing and international trade in 2009 and the IPG award for Services to Independent Publishers in 2018.
