On the BookBrunch team since 2016, my previous jobs included Editor of Retail Week for five years from 1999, followed by eight years as Editor-in-Chief of The Bookseller until 2012. Prior to Retail Week, I spent ten years reporting on the advertising business after training as a copywriter.
On my bookshelf: Favourite genres include medieval and Dark Ages history and narrative-driven literary fiction; favourite books include Le Grand Meaulnes (Alain-Fournier), The Fatal Shore (Robert Hughes), The Wasp Factory (Iain Banks) and Small Pleasures (Clare Chambers). Basically, if it's serious, dark, and in the past, I'm going to love it.
