Chairwoman of the Critics' Jury for the German Youth Literature Prize
Prof. Dr. Karin Vach is Professor of Literature Didactics at the Institute for German Language and Literature at Heidelberg University of Education and Director of the Center for Children's and Youth Literature there. She will take office as rector of the university in October 2022. She worked for many years as an elementary school teacher and knows from practical experience the importance of stimulating literature for adolescents. Her work and research focus on literary learning, reading promotion, and children's and young adult literature. She is co-editor of the series Kinder- und Jugendliteratur aktuell.
