Regina Brooks

Regina Brooks is the founder and CEO of Serendipity Literary Agency a full service literary agency in New York City, US. She represents award-winning authors and illustrators across adult, young adult, and children's literature, with clients earning honors including the National Book Award, Caldecott Honor, Newbery Honor, Michael L. Printz Honor, Coretta Scott King Award, Stonewall Award, and Edgar Award.
Before founding Serendipity, Brooks held senior editorial positions at John Wiley & Sons and McGraw-Hill. She currently serves as President of the Association of American Literary Agents (AALA) and is the founder of the People of Publishing Conference. She is also a founding member of Literary Agents of Change and serves on the Board of the Association of Writers & Writing Programs (AWP)and the National Book Foundation’s Book Council.
Brooks is the author of Writing Great Books for Young Adults (Sourcebooks), You Should Really Write a Book (St. Martin's Press), and Never Finished, Never Done (Scholastic). She has been featured in The New York Times, USA Today, The Wall Street Journal, and The Atlantic. Her honors include Stevie Awards for Business and Women Entrepreneurs and recognition by Writer's Digest, which named Serendipity one of the top literary agencies in the country.
