Each year, the diverse event programme attracts media representatives, industry experts and publishing professionals from around the world – offering you maximum visibility and reach for your content.

With the new hall concept, Frankfurter Buchmesse 2026 introduces additional stages, creating even more opportunities for a wide range of formats and impactful presentations.

You can easily submit your event via the application form once registration opens. Prices vary depending on the stage and format – please see the overview below.

Our event formats

Our Meet the Author area enables authors and visitors to meet in an indoor area of over 5,500 square metres. The historic Festhalle offers a unique ambience under its 29-metre-high glass dome.

The big stage at Frankfurter Buchmesse, with up to 1,800 spectators.
From bestseller readings to major performances, the Harmonie Hall and surrounding rooms offer state-of-the-art technology for events with an audience of 150 or more.

On the stage in Hall 4.1, everything revolves around trends and market developments in the fields of science, education and publishing services. The Campus Weekend focuses on information about career opportunities in your organisation and making contacts with students and young professionals. Authors and experts on (popular) science topics also meet an audience of people enthusiastic about knowledge.

Frankfurt Studio

Whether it’s for star authors or industry decision makers, the Dialogue Stage is your platform for inspiring talks on the latest topics and trends – with up to 150 audience members on site. On trade visitor days, each event will be recorded and made available in the Frankfurter Buchmesse media library for one year after the event. On weekends, the recording can be booked in addition to the event.

Whether it’s for star authors or industry decision makers, the Dialogue Stage is your platform for inspiring talks on the latest topics and trends – with up to 150 audience members on site. On trade visitor days, each event will be recorded and made available in the Frankfurter Buchmesse media library for one year after the event. International Stage

The Global Stage in the Foyer between the international Halls 5.1 and 6.1 offers you the ideal setting for exchanging ideas with the international publishing community. At the weekend, the stage is particularly suitable for readings by authors from all regions of the world.

FAQ

A submission process allows us to give all exhibitors the option to submit proposals to us, so that we can put together an interesting, varied and topical programme, in which all proposals are equally valued.

All exhibitors who has a suitable proposal can submit it. No one is automatically entitled to participate.

The submissions will be evaluated according to the topicality of the title, relevance to communication focal points/target groups and reach of the stage guests.

We try to get back to you or give you an answer promptly after receiving your submission (see schedule above).

Unfortunately, we will not be able to consider proposals that reach us after the specified submission deadline (see timetable).

Since the events can be held in German and/or in English, we ask you to submit your idea in one of these two languages.

Please refer to the overview above for the costs. Fees, travel and accommodation costs for artists, authors, presenters, publishing house staff, interpreters etc. as well as all other costs, such as tickets for the book fair, will not be covered by us.

You can cancel your booked slot at any time. To do so, please contact servicecenter@buchmesse.de in writing. In the event of cancellation before 18 July, 2026, a cancellation fee of 20 percent of the event price will be charged; from 18 July 2026, the cancellation fee will be 100 percent of the event price.

Frankfurter Buchmesse is a meeting place for publishers, authors, literature fans and personalities from culture and politics from all over the world. At the fair, people from more than 100 countries come together in a peaceful and secure environment. Frankfurter Buchmesse stands for diversity; it thrives on the variety and internationality of its exhibitors and visitors, as well as on the exchange among these in an open dialogue. Therefore, please note our Code of Conduct when planning your event.
