The Librarian: Digitisation in libraries to overcome the knowledge gap
Digital transformation in libraries has opened up new possibilities in the areas of archiving, accessibility and research into cultural artefacts and scientifically relevant information. Digitised artefacts can be viewed and analysed regardless of time and place, linked to one another and contextualised in a wide variety of ways. This gives rise to ever-new fields of knowledge and interrelationships between pieces of information, as well as innovative scientific methods of analysis.
The conference will address the opportunities and challenges that this digitisation presents for libraries. Drawing on examples and best practices, existing technical and organisational solutions will be presented and possible future developments proposed.
