Maria José Gálvez, General Director for Books and Reading Promotion in the Spanish Government is in charge of promoting literary creation and translation in Spain's official languages, supporting the publishing sector and fostering the increase in reading, specially through public libraries. Previously she has worked succesfully as Chief Editor for Tirant lo Blanch publishers, and in the Spanish Parliament and Government. Associate Professor at Carlos III University of Madrid, she holds a PHD in Constitutional Law.
