Anna Soler-Pont (Barcelona, 1968) founded Pontas Literary & Film Agency in 1992 and has since represented internationally writers from the five continents, as a bridge between storytelling and cultures, between books and films. Among others, Pontas has launched or helped consolidate the international literary careers of voices such as Dolores Redondo, Jonas Jonasson, Avni Doshi, Milena Busquets, Kopano Matlwa and Eka Kurniawan.
In 2013, the same partners of the literary agency founded Pontas Films, which specializes in literary adaptations. The first feature film produced was Traces of Sandalwood (Rastres de sàndal), directed by Maria Ripoll (scripted by Anna Soler-Pont adapting the novel co-written by herself and Asha Miró); among others, the film won the 2015 Gaudí Award for Best Film, the Audience Award at the 2014 Montreal Film Festival and was nominated for the 2015 Goya Award in Best Adapted Screenplay. Pontas Films has co-produced Cold Skin (La pell freda), directed by Xavier Gens (adapting the novel by Albert Sánchez Piñol) and The Solar System (El Sistema Solar), directed by Caravedo & Higashionna (adapting the theater play by Mariana de Althaus).
She was the commissioner of the Catalan Culture program as the Guest of Honor of the Frankfurt Book Fair 2007. And in 2015 she was awarded the Creu de Sant Jordi (Cross of Saint Georges), one of the highest civil distinctions awarded in Catalonia.
