Official Opening: Award Ceremony of VdÜ & Reception

Official Opening of the International Translation Centre with an award ceremony of VdÜ (Association of German-Language Translators of Literary and Scientific Works) and a reception.

As part of the opening event of the new International Translation Centre at
Frankfurter Buchmesse, the award ceremony for the German translation award "Übersetzerbarke" by VdÜ will take place. In 2022, Dr Sabine Baumann will be honoured for her manifold services to the visibility and appreciation of
literary translation in the public sphere. In her professional and  honorary work, she is committed to outstanding translations and to the works and their German authors. This year's barge is  is a painting by the artist Johanna Hansen. The laudatory speech will be given by Chair of the VdÜ, Marieke Heimburger.
