Maisoon Saqr

Maisoon Saqr ist Dichterin, Autorin und Künstlerin. Sie hat mehrere Gedichtbände auf Arabisch veröffentlicht und wurde vor Kurzem mit dem C.P. Cavafy International Prize for Poetry ausgezeichnet. Ihr Roman A Pearl in My Mouth (2016) stand auf der Shortlist für den Sheikh Zayed Book Award. Sie hat unter anderem bei der Kulturstiftung in Abu Dhabi in der Abteilung für Kultur, Kunst und Verlagswesen gearbeitet sowie im Ministerium für Information und Kultur als Direktorin der Kulturabteilung.
Maisoon Saqr is a poet, novelist and artist who has published several collections of poetry in classical Arabic and has previously won the C.P. Cavafy International Prize for Poetry. Her novel A Pearl in My Mouth (2016) was previously shortlisted for the Sheikh Zayed Book Award. Her professional background includes working at the Cultural Foundation in Abu Dhabi in the Department of Culture, Arts, and Publishing, and at the Ministry of Information and Culture as Director of the Cultural Department.
