Radka Denemarková: Born in 1968, lives in Prague as an author, playwright, screenwriter, essayist and translator of German literature. "Hours of Lead" received the 2019 Book of the Year Award and was a bestseller in the Czech Republic. Denemarková's work has been translated into more than twenty languages. She was awarded the Spycher:Literaturpreis Leuk 2019 for her novel "A Contribution to the History of Joy" (Verlag Hoffmann und Campe, 2019).
