Raul Figueroa

Raúl Figueroa Sarti was the founder of F&G Editores, a publishing house with over 30 years’ history and one of the most prominent independent publishers in Central America. Co-founder and, at various times, president of the Guatemalan Publishers’ Association and of the book fair FILGUA. 

In 2021 and 2022, he was shortlisted for the Voltaire Prize for Freedom of Publication, awarded by the International Publishers Association; in 2021, he received the Jari Laber Prize for Freedom of Publication, awarded by the Publishers Association of the United States. 

In 2022, he received the Publishing Merit Award from the Guadalajara International Book Fair, and in 2024, the Federico García Lorca Award for Freedom of Publication from the Ibero-American Publishers’ Group. 

Raúl Figueroa Sarti is currently the general coordinator of the Libro al Viento book fair organised by the Publishers Association.
