FAQ General public tickets

In order to make your visit to the fair as safe as possible, we are limiting the number of general public tickets available this year in coordination with Messe Frankfurt and will only sell them in our online ticket store. There will therefore be no ticket sales at the ticket office at the weekend.

From experience, it can be assumed that tickets for Saturday in particular will be sold out before the trade fair. Please use our online sales in good time to secure tickets for your preferred day.

The following groups are entitled to purchase discounted general public tickets:
Schoolchildren, students, pensioners, the unemployed, people with disabilities (for those with a disability recognised as level 50 and above), holders of the Frankfurt Pass, Federal or Social or Ecological Service Volunteers as well as volunteers and trainees.

A proof is required when entering the fairgrounds.

Children aged 0-6 years (inclusive) do not need a ticket and can enter the fairgrounds free of charge when accompanied by an adult. Proof of age may be required at the entrance.

Persons in wheelchairs or disabled persons with a "B" on their disabled person's pass will be admitted free of charge for themselves and their companion on presentation of their disabled person's pass.

Children up to and including 6 years of age accompanying a trade visitor or visitor will be admitted free of charge.

No, the public transport in Frankfurt (RMV) can unfortunately not be used free of charge with the general public tickets.

It is not necessary to print out your ticket, the digital version is sufficient.

Access to the Literary Agents & Scouts Centre (LitAg) and the Publishers Rights Centre (PRC)

  • Access to the LitAg and PRC ist strictly by invitation and confirmed appointment. Visitors must check in at the admission desk.
  • These are work centres and are NOT accessible with a general visitor ticket. Please ensure you present one of the following: trade visitor ticket, Exhibitor Pass or Literary Agent Ticket.
  • Access on Tuesday, 14 October 2025: Both LitAg and PRC are open for meetings on Tuesday. To access the fairgrounds and work centres on this day, you may need a Tuesday Ticket. The agency inviting you can provide a code for this ticket.  Instructions on how to redeem your code can be found in the FAQ section below.
Note: Participants with a Literary Agent Ticket or an Exhibitor Pass do not require a Tuesday Ticket.
  • Quicklane Access: If you have several meetings at the LitAg or PRC, you can request a Quicklane Card at the reception desk. This card grants you access to the quicklane after your initial check-in.

FAQ Redeem Tuesday Ticket code

To redeem your Tuesday Ticket code, register directly in the Ticket Shop for trade visitors after entering the ticket code. This registration is only valid in this Ticket Shop and only for the current Frankfurter Buchmesse. It will be deleted after the event.

You have received a Tuesday Ticket code from the agency with which you have made an appointment at the Literary Agents & Scouts Centre (LitAG) for the Tuesday of the fair.

After clicking on the link to the Ticket Shop for trade visitors, enter the code in the field "Ticket code" and register in the Shop for this year. You will then be asked to personalise the ticket with your name and e-mail address. After completing the process, you will receive an e-mail with your Tuesday Ticket as a PDF and as a pkpass file.

You can retrieve the created PDF tickets at any time. To do so, log into the Ticket Shop for trade visitors and click on "Your orders" to download your Tuesday Ticket.
