Charles Watkinson is Director of University of Michigan Press and Associate University Librarian for Publishing at the University of Michigan Library. He was previously Director of Purdue University Press and Director of Publications at the American School of Classical Studies at Athens. He has worked on various projects focused on the future of the book since 2004 and most recently has been one of the co-PIs in developing the Fulcrum platform for digitally-enhanced long-form scholarship with support from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation and the National Endowment for the Humanities. He has been on the Board of the Association of University Presses and the Society for Scholarly Publishing, and was one of the initiators of the Library Publishing Coalition.
