Indira Birnie has worked at Penguin Random House for ten years, starting as a publicity assistant working on campaigns for authors such as Salman Rushdie, Misha Glenny, Annie Leibovitz and more, before moving on to specialise in social media – eventually running Penguin’s social channels and managing a team focused on some of the Penguin brand’s audience-focused marketing activities. More recently she has been an Executive Producer on This Is Spoke, an outspoken podcast for a Gen Z audience, and in her current role as Senior Manager, Audience Marketing, she leads on the Penguin Podcast, as well as marketing strategy for penguin.co.uk
