Democratic values are under pressure worldwide. Authoritarian regimes challenge international alliances, restrict freedom of speech and the press, and use digital manipulation and targeted disinformation to destabilise societies — reaching even into established democracies.

At a time when global conflicts demand stability and responsibility from strong democracies, how do leaders and journalists navigate these tensions?

In this conversation, Maria Ressa, Nobel Peace Prize laureate, journalist, and advocate for press freedom, meets Jens Stoltenberg, former NATO Secretary General and author of On My Watch, to discuss the struggle for truth, democracy, and peace.

Moderated by Sebastian Puschner, der Freitag.
