Panel discussion with the winners of the jury of critics, the young adult jury and the special award winners

The German Youth Literature Prize is traditionally awarded on the Friday of the Frankfurt Book Fair. The following day, there will be an opportunity to find out even more about the award winners. In addition to the winners in the picture book, children's book, youth book and non-fiction categories, the awards of the youth jury and the special illustration prizes will also be presented. The focus will be on the award-winning books and the story of how they came about.

The German Youth Literature Prize is sponsored by the German Federal Ministry for Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth and is endowed with a total of 72,000 euros. It has been awarded annually since 1956 to promote the development of children's and youth literature, to keep public interest in it alive and to challenge discussion.

Three independent juries - the Critics' Jury, the Youth Jury and the Special Prize Jury - are responsible for the selection.
