FAQ Trade visitor tickets
You qualify as a trade visitor if you are professionally involved in the development, production, sales, or management of printed and electronic media as well as in art or antiques or are active in the area of education.
Trade groups include, for example:
- Employees of publishing houses, literary agencies, bookstores, and libraries
- Authors, illustrators, and translators
- Employees of printing presses, software firms and other service companies for the book and media industry
- Teachers and school directors of all types of schools, educators, or other pedagogical personnel
- Content creators
- Members of the creative industries, creative artists, and agents
- Students of all disciplines and trainees in the book and media industry
We reserve the right to request proof of activity (business card, employer's letter, student ID card, etc.).
The following groups are entitled to purchase discounted trade visitor tickets:
Students, booksellers, librarians, trainees and apprentices in the book and media industry, trade visitors with disabilities (from degree of disability 50%)
Proof required when entering the fairgrounds, e.g. student ID card, school ID card, pension letter, business card, disabled person's pass.
People in wheelchairs or holding a disability card marked with ‘B’ or ‘H’ will be admitted as trade visitors without the need for further proof. These individuals and their accompanying person will be granted free entry to the book fair directly at the entrance.
Standard admission requirements (see above) and eligibility for concessions (see above) apply to all other individuals.
The trade visitor ticket/RMV-ticket entitles you to travel with the Rhein-Main-Verkehrsverbund (RMV) for free for arrival and departure to the fairgrounds. Please print out the ticket pdf or have the ticket ready on your smartphone when using the local transport network. Please note that an identity card is needed in case of a passenger check when using the local public transport.

FAQ General public tickets
In order to make your visit to the fair as safe as possible, we are limiting the number of general public tickets available this year in coordination with Messe Frankfurt and will only sell them in our online ticket store. There will therefore be no ticket sales at the ticket office at the weekend.
From experience, it can be assumed that tickets for Saturday in particular will be sold out before the trade fair. Please use our online sales in good time to secure tickets for your preferred day.
The following groups are entitled to purchase discounted general public tickets:
Schoolchildren, students, pensioners, the unemployed, people with disabilities (for those with a disability recognised as level 50 and above), holders of the Frankfurt Pass, Federal or Social or Ecological Service Volunteers as well as volunteers and trainees.
A proof is required when entering the fairgrounds e.g. student ID card, school ID card, pension letter, disabled person's pass.
Children aged 0-6 years (inclusive) do not need a ticket and can enter the fairgrounds free of charge when accompanied by an adult. Proof of age may be required at the entrance.
Persons in wheelchairs or disabled persons with a "B" on their disabled person's pass will be admitted free of charge for themselves and their companion on presentation of their disabled person's pass.
Children up to and including 6 years of age accompanying a trade visitor or visitor will be admitted free of charge.
No, the public transport in Frankfurt (RMV) can unfortunately not be used free of charge with the general public tickets.
It is not necessary to print out your ticket, the digital version is sufficient.
Access to the Literary Agents & Scouts Centre (LitAg) and the Publishers Rights Centre (PRC)
- Access to the LitAg and PRC ist strictly by invitation and confirmed appointment. Visitors must check in at the admission desk.
- These are working centres and are NOT accessible with a general visitor ticket. Please ensure you present one of the following: trade visitor ticket, Exhibitor Pass or Literary Agent Ticket.
- Access on Tuesday, 6 October 2026: Both LitAg and PRC are open for meetings on Tuesday. To access the fairgrounds and both centres, you may need a Tuesday Ticket. The agency inviting you can provide a code for this ticket. Instructions on how to redeem your code can be found in the FAQ section below.
Note: Participants with a Literary Agent Ticket or an Exhibitor Pass do not require a Tuesday Ticket. - Quicklane Access: If you have several meetings at the LitAg or PRC, you can request a Quicklane Card at the reception desk.
