“Stage 4.0” is the new stage for science, business information and international education providers | “Librarian's Day” on the Friday of the fair | Campus Weekend and “Job Board” for students and young professionals
Academic publishing, business information, education, software and EdTech: with the new Stage 4.0 (H 104), the international Hall 4.0 at Frankfurter Buchmesse (16-20 October 2024) now has its own event stage. Everything here revolves around trends, products and market developments in the fields of science, education and publishing services. Friday is dedicated to the library sector. At the weekend, Stage 4.0 will be free for the Campus Weekend with events for students and young professionals in companies as well as popular science topics. German-language events on current education topics will once again take place in the Education Forum (Hall 3.1, Stand D 12).
Science, business information, Librarians’ Day, EdTech. New: Stage 4.0
International scientific and academic publishers and providers of business information, international educational publishers and EdTech are located in Hall 4.0. Start-ups from the education sector are represented by the EDUvation network, among others. The hall will be livened up on all days of the fair with events on the new Stage 4.0 (4.0 H 104): with Morressier as Stage 4.0 Partner and events by BookMachine, Bookwire, Society of Scholarly Publishing, Charleston Hub in cooperation with Publishing Perspectives and many more. The Wednesday and Thursday mornings are dedicated to international science and education topics, then the publishing partners take over the stage. Friday is Librarians’ Day, with the two-hour Charleston Micro-Conference as the opening event. A new meeting area right next to Stage 4.0 will allow trade visitors to network on site.

Campus Weekend
Numerous exhibitors will be participating in the Campus Weekend with offers at their own stand or on one of the book fair stages: Workshops, expert talks, Q&As, networking events. The programme is aimed at students and young professionals in companies who want to boost their careers, meet new people and learn more about science and research topics. New: Job Board for young professionals in the book and media industry
It goes without saying that training programmes in the book, information and media industry will also be presented here: Goethe University Frankfurt and Philipps University Marburg, in cooperation with Frankfurter Buchmesse, are presenting the new Masters degree programme “International Literatures and Book Markets”. At the Young Professionals Day on Saturday, Mediacampus Frankfurt will provide a look behind the scenes of the book industry with best practice and career tips (language: German). A visit to Hall 1.2 is also worthwhile to find out more about careers in the book industry: This is where the cafe for trainees in bookshops and publishing houses (1.2 E 29), specialists for media and information services (1.2 E 11) and book-related degree programmes (1.2 E 38) will be based for the entire duration of the fair. Jobs, internships and career offers for young professionals can be found on the new job board (4.0 J 74). Education in nurseries, schools and social professions: German-language exhibition areas and programme highlights in the Education Forum
The German-language educational publishers are located in Hall 3.1. Here, pupils and their parents will find material that complements the teaching materials and opportunities available at school. Other offerings include specialised literature and guides for teachers, educators and other professionals working in the education sector.
The programme of events in the Education Forum (Hall 3.1 D 12) addresses topics from the current education debate in Germany. Protagonists from politics, science and practice will present their visions of learning, learning culture and basic values for discussion. The programme is jointly organised by the Verband Bildungsmedien e. V. and Frankfurter Buchmesse. Topics include artificial intelligence, democracy learning and reading promotion. The German-language academic publishers are also located in Hall 3.1. Haufe Group is contributing to a high-quality specialist programme with its own event stage. Weekend programme with the LitCam educational initiative
From Friday afternoon, when the general public is also admitted to the trade fair, Stage 4.0 will be highlighting topics such as “Why still learn?” (education influencer Bob Blume on his vision of the school of the future, Friday, 18 October, 5 p.m.), the Science Talk (with Goethe University Frankfurt, Saturday, 19 October, 5 p.m.) or the LitCam Football Talk on the topic of football and culture (Was EURO24 a summer fairytale 2.0? (Friday, 18 October, 16.00 hrs. With the DFB Cultural Foundation, German football celebrities have been invited). These events will be held in German.
